Orange is the new black…

FullSizeRenderYes, that was a very cheesy cliché title , but very appropriate indeed! This summer is all about channelling your inner bronze goddess , which means pop colours!

P.S please excuse my untidy eyebrows!

Smokey eyes this summer and spring? – no!

A  few months ago , I was obsessed with matte skin tone eye shadows , so I decided to order a few shades from Kiko Makeup Milano.  However , it’s really hard to tell what colours your ordering online and I  ended up getting not what I expected. Oh well, it all worked out for the best.

The colours that I got were:

204 mat apricot £2.80

205 golden coral £2.80

Review: the matte shade is a bit chalky and is low on pigment , it’s best to apply it with your finger as the colour looks much brighter and stronger. You do need a primer as the staying power is low!

The sparking shade is a better pigment, you can build it up and make it darker! The sparkle is subtle, which I like and the colour is an amazing shade of orange, not what I expected!

Orange and ultra violet purple is a perfect combination and I am obsessed , It’s perfect for the summer , as it’s not over the top but enough to stand out!

Heres how I did it:

FullSizeRender1) I primed the eye using BD make up even smoother eye primer.

2) Applied a matte highlighter to the base of the eye and under the brow bone. I do this to create layers, which will increase the staying power , also a whiter base will make the second colour more pigmented.

FullSizeRender[1]3) Used my finger and dabbed the matte shade all over my lid, as you can see it looks really messy! It does the job haha.

4) I got the darker shade of orange and applied it to my crease with a blending brush. I did this several times to increase brightness.

I then, Lined my eye with felt-tip  liner and applied mascara . For the corners of my eye , I applied a bronze eye shadow.

Under the eye , I used Kiko long lasting stick eyeshadow – shade 13… I love theses sticks ; they are so multifunctional , pigmented and creamy , as well as having a good staying power. Totally recommend . I followed this colour under my eye all the way to the inner corner and mixed it with the bronze , for that bright eye look.
